Athena Glasgow Women and Girls Football Academy was Established 2022 to provide Women and Girls in the North of Glasgow a safe and welcoming environment to play football and learn life skills along the way.
Creating the right culture at our club is key, A culture where Players, Coaches and all staff can thrive and fulfil their potential and those supporting feel part of the Athena Glasgow Family.
It is important to understand that Culture can be impacted by difference in ideas, customs, Social Background and behaviours.
To support the culture you want to achieve, clear expectations must be set at all levels and be consistent across the club but of course you must get buy in from everyone involved and the way to do this is by displaying equality and diversity, aiming at building a mutual respect and trust for all members ensuring everyone feels engaged and part of something.
Our 7 Cs:
Creating Great Culture is all about how your weakest Link feels. From a club point of view, we intend to lead by example withthe goal of ensuring that any sessions the players attend at Athena Glasgow it is the best part of the players day this ensures they want to be there, and they can’t wait to come back.
We believe it is important to understand that everyone sees the world through different lenses and this is important to remember when we are coaching. As a coach you are not just coaching a team you are coaching a group of individuals with different lenses who learn at different rates and speeds and in different ways and to be a good coach you have to be able to adapt your Lens and way of thinking to ensure you meet the individuals needs of each of your players.
If your players are not learning and progressing from your ways of teaching then your coaching methods are unsuccessful and change is required this is something we discuss with our coaches regularly.
